Not all vinyl replacement windows are created equally.
Q. There are so many different options when it comes to selecting a company, style and type of vinyl replacement window. Are there significant differences between one company’s vinyl window to another? Or are they all the same?
A. At Cossins, we have been locally manufacturing our own vinyl windows for over 30 years. And we take great pride in saying that not all vinyl windows are created equally. Manufacturing technology and quality of raw materials make a significant difference in the longevity and quality of your window. In fact, understanding how your windows are made is one area where you should really do your research to understand that you truly get what you pay for.
Extrusion Process is how the vinyl is formed and can vary greatly among manufacturers. Cossins uses only new materials, not recycled, as recycled vinyl used in cheaper extrusions can turn yellow and discolor over time.
Glass selection is another area to consider. All our vinyl replacement windows and doors are dual pane glazed units with a non-metallic spacer. You will find that with a cheaper glazing process and metallic spacer, condensation will occur within a few short months. A frustrating sign that you didn’t get the most out of your investment dollars.
And finally, installation process is a key area to ensure your vinyl replacement windows are going to last for years to come. We have our own team of certified installers who know our products, how they are made and are experienced in all kinds of installation scenarios.
