Simpson Door uses a variety of innovative techniques to manufacture impeccably-crafted stile-and-rail wood doors from engineered to solid construction, simulated divided lite to true divided lite construction as well as construction methods for tough exterior exposures. The detail and engineering that is put into every hand-crafted Simpson door gives it strength and quality that will stand the test of time.

Engineered Construction:
- Finger-jointed Wood Core – Simpson Door always uses wood as the core material in an engineered rail or stile. When it’s an exterior door, the core material will always be western hemlock or douglas fir, which will make all the difference in teh performance of
- Edge Bands – inner and outer edge bands are selected so they will match the species of wood requested.
- Surface Veneers – are carefully selected so they will match the characteristics of the specifications of the species that is selected. Standard Doors have 1/16” thick veneers (while knotty alder has 1/8” veneers) and all doors, in any species, can be ordered with veneers of 1/8” or ¼” thick. Solid Construction:
- When your project or customer needs solid components, Simpson Door can deliver.
- Two-piece Laminated Stiles and Rails – When you need to have the characteristics of a solid component and still remaining straight.
- Solid Rails – rails have the option to be made from a single piece of wood. This construction is preferred in some parts of the country for the bottom rail.
- Innerbond® Double Hip-Raised Panels – These are manufactured with two panel blanks that have offsetting grain patterns. They come with a lifetime warranty against splitting.
Divided Lite Construction:
- You have a choice between Simulated Divided Lite (SDL) or True Divided Lite (TDL) construction for any exterior door.
- Standard bars are available in either shaker or ovolo profiles.
- Custom bar options are also available to be quoted if required.Engineering for Tough Exposures:
- Simpson Door offers a number of leading edge products that can handle tough exterior exposures.
